About Frank Longo (Of Council)
Frank A. Longo has been a practicing attorney in New York for nearly 35 years and focuses primarily on personal injury and other litigation matters, with extensive experience in both the State and Federal Courts in New York. He is a member of Golomb & Longo, PLLC, a boutique personal injury law firm located in Manhattan with more than $150 million in verdicts and settlements over the past 30 years on behalf of their clients. Some of those matters include Savillo v. Greenpoint Landing Associates, LLC, (Sup. Ct., New York County 2011)[verdict in excess of $50,000,000 for worker catastrophically injured and left paralyzed after falling from an elevated work platform that lacked proper safety protection]; Nunez v. Tritec Building Company, (Sup. Ct. New York County, 2008) ($20,000,000.00 verdict for worker who lost his leg below the knee as a result of general contractor’s negligence during demolition work); McDonald v. Diallo (Sup. Ct., Westchester County, 2018) ($15,000,000.00 settlement for woman who nearly lost her leg after being struck in a crosswalk by delivery truck).
In addition, Mr. Longo has had a number of reported appellate decisions relating to work performed on his firm’s cases. These include Nieto v. CLDN NY LLC, 170 A.D.3d 431 (1st Dept. 2019)[plaintiff granted summary judgment under Labor Law §240(1) against owner and general contractor, reversing order of trial court denying motion]; Hinds v. Killgallen, 83 A.D.3d 431 (2nd Dept. 2011) [reversing award of attorney’s fees to prior attorney for plaintiff who performed no work or services contributing to the case’s successful resolution]. Neferis v. DiStefano, 265 A.D.2d 464 (2nd Dept. 1999)[granting plaintiff’s motion to compel defendant driver to provide pharmacy and prescription records relating to medications taken on date of incident; driver waived physician-patient privilege normally protecting disclosure of such records by testifying that she took the medications on date of underlying collision].
Finally, Mr. Longo also drafts simple wills and trusts and handles administration and probate matters in Surrogate’s Court, including wrongful death compromises.
Mr. Longo is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut as well as the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the United States.
